Title: A sleeping giant awakened by the sweet rumble of an 8V92 trying to sneak off!
Post by: Busted Knuckle on July 03, 2011, 08:17:26 AM
I made an 11 hr turn around last night leaving @ 5:30 PM and returned @ 4:30 AM from "spotting" a group for one of our drivers.

(Spotting for those who aren't familiar with USDOT rules & regs. is where one driver takes the bus from the yard and picks up a group and then drives them to a designated "spot" near a hotel where driver #2 has been sleeping or resting for 8 hrs or more and is ready to get in the bus and drive the group on to their destination. We have to do this on any trip over 10 hrs of DRIVING time.)

Anyway I went to bed @ 5 AM and promptly @ 10:00 AM I was awakened by the sweet rumble of an 8V92 outside. (the dogs are so used to buses coming & going here it didn't even phase them so they slept on. (until I nudged them with my foot and told them "get up and go get him) and turned them loose on Don Fairchild as he made his final walk around inspection while preparing to sneak off while I slept.

It was great to see Don again and visit what little we were able too but I had to work and Don has to ease on toward his next destination of Sunshine, LA for one more customer visit on his way home to CA.

Guess we will just have to get even the next time he crosses the Miss. river.

Maybe not pull him out the next time he is stuck or just let people back all over him.

only way to forgive him is for him to bring more steaks.

Happy   I believe he left the windows at my house instead of the good wrench.

Just kidding they were stored in the front of his truck where they were safe.

I have a large Maglite flashlight that ended up going to BusN' USA without us, and now it is on its way to Alaska. Hopefully it will make its way back to us sometime after we get back to Yuma..... if nothing else we should catch up to it at the rally in Quartzsite.  ;D

Teresa I hope the windows make it in how many ever pieces they were in when he picked them up.

He's been like a little kid in a candy store since he found out that the Walmarts back here in the real USA still sell BB guns! (he's bought 2 that I know off and he's been shooting anything that will stay still long enough to be a target! ;)
