Post by: lostagain on June 27, 2011, 06:42:59 PM
Will someone who has been there this week-end please post some pictures and stories!

How was it?

I could not make it this year. My son's graduation was on this week-end.

Tried to post pic,s but all to big. Don't know how to get them small enough to post. Wife and I had a great time. It was our first time to a rally. Went to see what kind of bus would fit our needs the best. Every body was helpful. I'm sure we looked very lost when we walked in to check out the buses, but they all made us feel right at home. There must of been maybe 35 to 40 buses. Hard times made it tough for many to attend I'm sure. Traci my wife was really not sure about buying a bus but is all for it now. Thanks to all who help as feel welcome

Clifford -

Over the last four years, the attendance at Jack's Rally in Arcadia, FL has tapered off, too.

Have heard the same thing re: Good Sam & FMCA rallies.

So it's not just the OR folk, it's RV-industry wide.

Must admit, tho, that Quartzsite seems to be holding it's own.

Kevin -

Upload your photos to a PhotoBucket account (create one if you don't already have one - be sure not to restrict access), then simply paste the page link in a message here. Simple.

FWIW & HTH. . .

I forget the exact numbers but there were over 50 coaches; 20 something Prevosts, 13 eagles, 3 or 4 MCI, forgot the GM and brand X.  One thing's for sure, the eatin' was mighty fine; thanks Joe Melroy!  With the low coach count there were plenty of power poles to go around.

Yep I enjoy those GM guys and what they have done to those old GM's, the Eagles and the other brands are not bad either, I love the Flx's when they are there that is true love and devotion for those guys lol

good luck

Last year we had a few more buses but considering the economy and fuel I think this year was a success even though we had a few less coaches.  Lots of people put in a lot of hours and sweat to make that rally happen for us.  Shame to see their contribution go unrecognized nor their achievement go unrecorded.  Everyone I have spoken with thanks them with sincere appreciation.  We have had a lot of Californians and also Canadians attend, so despite our chapter being the North West, we attract Knuts from all over the general area.  If you are in Orygun in late June you can't do better than BusN USA to meet and greet and share with fellow Knuts.  Everyone is welcome.  Hope to see you there next year.

Quartz enjoys the draw of being a southern destination to escape the bitter winter.  The sat. pics show a veritable sea of RVs and buses all over the desert.  I plan to go this coming winter for at least a couple weeks and maybe more.  Hope to see you there next year.

A buddy of mine sent these from his phone.

He said they had a great time, although the traffic was down.
