Very short summers in that area Tom lol when it says the end of summer it means it is a nice place you will enjoy July and Aug with a high of 70 + or - degrees most days

Welcome to Colorado Tom and Fran.

We are heading to Dillion CO for a family vacation.  On the news this morning they showed the campground with a few inches of snow.

Going to be fun spending a couple of weeks in the bus again.

someone told me yesterday that summer starts on July 4th. :)
they also said winter starts july 5th.  :(

jim, i just realized you live where we occasionally visit Walmart.  And where we saw 30 or so elk just off the exit ramp near the store.  so i guess you're not that far away which i'll  try to keep in mind if and when we make another visit to walmart.

on another side note, Mike Lutestanski (?) should be here today for a short visit.  assuming he doesn't hit snow on rt40 coming east.

Tom, Did you have time to go over Trail Ridge Road when it opened? My brother and I where up there two days after it opened. The snow depths where impressive. The visitors center was covered. The rivers will be running high for a lot of the summer. It is a good thing it is staying cool or there would be some serious flooding. It sure is beautiful in the mornings to see all the snow on the mountains from down here on the plains. Have a good summer, all 30 days of it.

Oh man I am in deep envy.  It has been 103 here in San Antonio for the past 3 days.  Seems like half the state of Texas is on fire.  I wish I was there with you.

some of ya'll seem to have your directions and seasons crossed.  We go south in the winter, north in the summer.

or maybe you just need to go north more.  :D

103, 107, 110???  those aren't temps i want to be in.  i think i'll keep the snow.

We've had 16 straight days over 100 degrees here in Georgetown, TX! Enjoy the snow, you could be burning up or worse yet floating down a rain swollen river.

How does anything grow out there for the animals to graze on?  ???

I spent three months working at Grand Teton National Park. It still amazes me how long the seasons last in some of the mountains.
