Title: Jack Russell Stuck in Bus
Post by: Rick59-4104 on June 15, 2011, 11:55:48 AM
My male Jack Russell Terrorist (Nelson) went MIA 2 days ago, this is not unusual, he is a male, we live in the country and he has days outside to roam but normally when he disappears I know which neighbor to check with. I did my usual, checked all vehicles as he loves to go along on a ride, checked the shops, checked the neighbors.... no Nelson.
This morning I was on my Nelson hunt and walked past the 1952 4103 that landed in my driveway a couple of months ago. Thought I heard a faint scratching sound, opened one of the bay doors and got a "where the heck have you been bark" from somewhere deep in the bowels of the bus. After a hour of tearing apart the old heating system the rescue was complete, he had crawled up a part of the duct system dropped down into a metal box attached to the bulkhead and could not get out. I bet the mouse he was chasing got right out. I had closed but not latched the door to the bay a few days ago, I guess he swung it up and made his entry.

Right now he is one "happy to see us" dog. ;)

Any pics of the little culprit?  We also have a Jack/Beagle.  Very curious and hyper.  Should be perfect for the bus.

Thats really kind of scary Rick, glad you found the lil guy. This will help to make sure we close up all those places to keep not only our pets, but any odd animal getting in.

I put a coffee can on my tailpipe to keep critters from crawling in.  Stayed at a place once where there were skunks that came thru at nite, and had one or two go under the bus. Did not want one to decide to make a home in my muffler. :)  I figured we would both be surprised and sorry when i fired up. ;D
