Title: Rivets
Post by: Tikvah on June 14, 2011, 06:47:24 AM
Okay, I'll be skinning my coach soon.  I need some rivets to go though both aluminum and steel.  The depth will vary on the number of thicknesses and materials I'm going through.  I need to decide what rivet to buy.

Suggestions?

Good suggestion!

I just ordered all my rivets, sealant, and drill bits from Byler Supply.  Spoke with Sean, very helpful and knowledgeable.

Tikvah, do I understand that you are fastening steel and aluminum together?  If so, how are you taking care of the electrolysis problem of two dissimilar metals?  If the rivet head is on aluminum and the base of the rivet is on steel, you have created a battery.  Just wondering?  Maybe a non-conductive washer?
