Just would like to know if it's what he says it is. To make sure the engine, air lines, under side, body are all good. I need a good ruining bus. I can work on the conversion over time to make it my own but don't have the money to start off with major over hauls.

I know you want a 5 but Gary @ Commuter Bus in Caldwell had a Mci 8 for sale nice bus for the age has a auto was asking 12 but you can buy it a lot cheaper than 12 he used this bus for the Boise to Jackpot run I can give you his number.
The 8 is a better bus than the older MCI 5 they don't have the drop box to worry with lose that sucker it will cost you around 4+ grand plus labor when on the road

good luck

12k for a bus that's not converted is a lot it would have to be mint for that price, even for 8k. just look at one in Jerome for 3.5k 76 MC8 6v92t seats taken out. I'll take his number allways wont more tire kicking exp.

luvrbus I used to own both of the 8's and sold them to Gary back in '98.  Can give someone the dirt on them.  Ex Hounds.  Maybe worth around 5 grand if still running good, which I doubt.  They are '78 square window '8's.

Smith's DD in Boise did a out of frame on the one he tried to sell me fwiw I still would prefer a 8 over a 5 after owning both the one I looked at 5 grand would be in the ball park of what he would take I think.
I don't like the older 5's made in 60's because most have the old style 8v71 still for a engine

good luck

It would be hard to beat the bus and price of Chuckmc8. Can't build one for that price. Very nice 8
