Title: M-11 Cummins and ten speed
Post by: Bob Belter on May 31, 2011, 10:52:46 AM
Ahoy, BusFolk,

Here is what has to be about the best deal around!!

I'd posted this on the Eagles web last week, and I just called, and the outfit had not yet had a call.  Shhheeeeshh ---  I thought that a deal like that would be gone in fifteen minutes!!

Here is what I'd posted on the Eagle web:

An M-11 Cummins and ten speed (not overdrive) was running, out of a crashed truck for $1000.00. It is in Orroville CA.
I just spoke to Eric, and the engine is still there, out of the truck, with all the boxes on the engine, and a long chopped main cable.
I have an M-11/10spd in my Eagle 01. VERY successful.
I'll hold off posting this on Bus conversions until ~~ Tuesday, to give you eagles a leg-up.

Diesel engines in RV's are exempt from smog laws in California.  I just registered my 1985 Kenworth as a motorhome with no inspection or smog requirement.  Good Luck, TomC

Excuse me for asking, but at which DMV?   My local DMV couldn't/wouldn't/didn't know when I asked about changing my bus from Auto to House Car.   Your "no inspection" sounds too good to be true!

Many thanks, John

Mine is still listed as a "Auto", but body type is MH.  I have an advantage-at L.A. Freightliner we have a outside vendor that does all of our DMV work that I used.

Even though commercial vehicles that are in California or come into California has to have 2010 engines by 2023, still no requirements on older RV's have been sited.  Good Luck, TomC
