Post by: luvrbus on May 19, 2011, 11:20:00 AM
I have a 4106 to install Jakes on it has the old style heads ? is where do they bring the wire out do they drill the valve cover or the head for the leads.
I know where they come out on the later heads they have plug to remove.
If you are looking at the head the older models (hump back) don't have the plate with the 2 bolts for each cylinder on top this bus has both styles you GM guys help me out here

good luck

Cliff,, the easy and best way is to drill and gromet the valve covers above the "puddle" line.>>>Dan  (oh and its not a GM thing,, its a Detroit thang )

They are clean Don and they are not there and you know I don't wear glasses lol anyway I drilled the blank off for the governor rod on the opposite end off the head and tapped it for 1/8 inch seal plug that works.
I didn't won't to drill his nice chrome valve covers and fight the wire every time you remove the valve covers

good luck

You really DO NEED glasses Cliff,,you can't tell chrome from polished,, and a disconnect on the wire outside the cover works great.>>>Dan
