Where is the Air Compressor?
Stupid me.... I thought that big belt driven compressor next to the engine was my air compressor. Duh!
So, in checking out the air conditioning system guess what I discovered. I feel like such a nudnik.
So, now I know where the air conditioner compressor is... but where did MCI, in their great wisdom, decide to put the Air System Compressor?
Lol....
Your air compressor is mechanicly driven off the engine. Look in the front of your engine.
It has oil lines connected to it too! ;D
Good Luck
Nick-
Front meaning "Front" or front meaning.... well....
In the direction of the front of the coach? I'm sure there is proper terminology
What are the oil lines for?
Can you see the arrows? I assume the top (light blue) is the air pump.
Not at all what I expected.
What is the other part?
Thanks

The light blue is the air pump the other is power steering I believe.
John
Yes the "Bendix blue" part (labeled "here") is the air compressor.
The rusty part (labeled "or here") is the power steering pump!
And now you know the rest of the story!
;D BK ;D
OH yeah by "front" Nick meant the front of the coach or the "rear of the engine"! LOL!
Now don't that make it clear as mud for beginners attemping to learn?
;D BK ;D
Don't feel stupid for asking questions. I'm betting 20 folks lurking are wondering the same. If we had had the internet back in the late 1800's we would have Luvrstagecoach helping us out! ;D ;D
Thanks guys for all the input. I get smarter ever day... I can't wait for tomorrow! ;D
I'm sure I'll have a few dozen hundred more questions of the same caliber and quality.
Tikvah,
First off I luv yer signature line! Reminds me of when I had my shop open to the public and a customer asked my mechanic one day "well how much is that gonna cost?" After being told his brakes were pretty much shot all the way around the car.
The mechanic responded with "Well that depends on whether you wanna stop all the way, or if ya just wanna slow way down!" ;)
Second like Scott said don't be afraid to ask questions. The only truly dumb question is the one that never get asked or is asked too late!
