Title: Aluminum Siding Revival
Post by: gus on May 10, 2011, 07:59:48 PM
Some PO removed the anodizing from a couple of my 4107 panels.

Surprise, the Al is corroding and turning a milky white.

Just by accident I managed to spill some Corrosion-X on it while applying it to some rusty bolts. When I wiped it off I was surprised to see the Al nice and shiny??

Today I applied the oil to the top two rows of two panels and made some photos. I also rubbed some around the amber reflector to show better the difference it made.

However, I have no idea how long this will last but I know it lasts up to a year inside airplanes. It is used to spray inside airplanes to stop corrosion at riveted joints.

I've used it for years inside airplanes, on battery terminals and connections, inside electrical panels on the terminals and on rusted/corroded bolts. I always apply a very thin coat to bolts and nuts exposed to weather.

No, I have no interest or investment in the company, don't even know the name of the company. There is another very similar product called Bo-Shield developed by Boeing but I've never used that one.
