Saw this and thought it would be interesting to put into the bus for extra seating without losing lots of floor space:

I've seen the seats that face sideways where the seat bottom folds up, that's not terribly exciting, much more interesting are the seats where the back of the seat folds down over the bottom and the whole seat folds up sideways against the side of the bus.
Didn't know they existed until I saw them on a craigslist posting
(for those interested: http://sfbay.craigslist.org/sfc/cto/2359320372.html (http://sfbay.craigslist.org/sfc/cto/2359320372.html))
They look like they fold up pretty flat, anyone ever try these as optional
seating for passengers while driving?
Doesn't a Honda Element have side-folding seat(s)? Maybe a junk yard could be a source for them.

My inlaws element has the seats that you are talking about but they still take up alot of room when folded up. The whole car is engineered kind stupid IMO.
Those seats dont look like they would hold much weight.

That's not a bad solution - though that only seats one person, the ones I was looking at fold out for seating for two.
Land Rover Discoveries and Defenders have this type of seat too. One for one person again though

Not what you are looking for but I thought these seats would be awesome.
