Title: jake fuel bridge lines
Post by: bevans6 on April 30, 2011, 07:56:58 AM
I'm swapping the jake brakes over to my new engine.  the fuel pipes that bridge from the head to the injector are old, some have rounded nuts so they aren't on there for the first time.  should I change them, where can I get them, and also the little o-rings inside the fitting?

Brian, are you looking for the jumper tubes for the Jakes ? if you have the tubes  with the o-rings you will need to change the fitting from the head and injectors from your old engine

good luck

The jumper tubes I took off the old engine along with the jake brakes had o-rings.  I also took off adaptors that extend up from the head by about 2".   I haven't taken off any of the jumper tubes from the new engine.  Are you saying that the injector fittings are different, possibly?

Edit:  I went out and took an injector line off the new engine - totally different.  A simple flared fitting.  It looks like the flared fitting adapters just screw into the injector.  Can I take the fittings off the old N65's and put them on the new N80's on the 8V71T?  The head adapter will just screw into the head, so no problem on that side.

Reading your reply again, I think that you are just saying I will need to change the fittings as I suggested above.  Can I get new O-ring style tubes?  flared tubes could just be made up I would think.

Brian, Both styles of tubes are still available and so are the "O" rings

Let me know which ones you use and I can get them for you.
