Title: 1989 Honda civic hatchback as a toad
Post by: mugsytrpt on April 27, 2011, 03:19:08 PM
I just bought a 1989 honda civc to tow behind my bus.  Has anyone pulled one of these with 4 tires down?  This one has a manual tranmission and weighs about 2100lbs.

My plan was to tow with all tires on the ground.  While the little car has alot of miles on it...it runs very good and I won't get my feelings hurt if I have to drag it over a curb or two.

I think it's a great choice.  I am a firm believer in using a beater for a tow2 car.

Mugsy, if you don't have the manual for it, try doing a little research on line. I always start with the Roadmaster site to see if they offer tow brackets for it and if anything special is needed (ie-trans oil pump) to tow 4 down. If it can't be towed 4 down, I wouldn't own it. I refuse to haul a dolly or trailer around all the time. That's just me. Good luck, Will
