It was really nice today (60F+) and Easter dinner wasn't until 5 pm so I installed my new LED marker/signal lights on the sides of my bus. Well it turned out I only got one side done before I had to get ready for dinner.
I originally had these big ugly Grote surface mount lights. I wanted to go LED, but the only surface mount marker/turn signal lights with the right hole spacing cost around $70 each. I ended up buying four grommet mount lights and grommets for just over $100.
The big issue I ran into is the hole for the grommet is larger than the space taken up by the original light. This caused issues with framework in the way of the hole. I barely had enough room in either the front or rear. I should have measured and marked both holes before I started. The front and rear lights are not the same height although I doubt anyone will notice. The rear is 1/2" higher than the front. I'll probably put the lights 1/2" higher on the other side so I have enough space for the hole.
Sorry, no photos yet as I had no time to get my camera out today.
