I did a couple of searches and found some old posts on setting Jake Brake buffer switches but the links to the PDF instructions are broken. Does anyone have the instructions on setting the Buffer switches on 8V71 with the pneumatic cyl on the switch?
Just a small update the buffer switch is floppy up and down and is loose on the threaded fitting coming out of the governor. I need to address this as well to firm up the system. Any suggestions?
The little nut is a lock nut tighten that one and it will stop the flopping you adjust those by loosening both nuts and turning threaded rod not the nuts what are you trying to adjust the brake or fast idle ?
good luck
At this point just trying to make the system function. I have no information on how or what makes it work. just looking for answers on How. My Switch is loose on the end of the threaded support out of the governor. Is there a jamb nut or something to firm it up on the shaft?
