I had a 1947 model 3751. Same Bus, but they used a different model number after the war. From what ive read, Greyhound had these buses on the drawing board in the early 30's, and the first ones hit the road in 1936. Same 671 V drive Spicer 4 Speed, etc...

I never cease to be amazed at how rapidly the mechanized industry advanced from 1900. From the Wright Flyer of 1903, to the Douglas DC-3 of 1933, some of which are still in service today. The old Silverside Greyhound Buses such as this one, were hauling passengers coast to coast by the late 30's, and really, the 4104 was just an "up do" on the platform, same engine and mechanical guts, and continued in commercial service into the early 70's. The genius that created all these things is simply astounding.

They got Raymond Lowery to design the Silversides and also the Scenicruiser. Nice Pedigree. I was always so confused as the prewar models were also 3701's. Nice buses.
