As I think everyone here is now aware, my crisis last month made the March issue go out VERY late. Some have just received it, and based on our usual experience with deliveries, many will get it next week and some will get it the following week. Definitely not good, but the circumstances that caused it were much more tragic.
As an additional consequence the April issue was pushed out as well. Considering the resulting timing for the April issue, we made the decision to make it the May issue instead of April rather than perpetuate a string of late deliveries. Therefore the April 2011 issue is being skipped. The content planned for the April issue is now in the May issue and other planned content will move down one month in the schedule.
To make it right for subscribers, one month will be added to every current subscription to offset the absence of an April 2011 issue. Likewise, all classified ads will be given an additional month for the same reason. And the same for commercial advertisers that have already paid for the April issue.
So sorry for what you have gone thru....I lost my Mother 8 years ago, she spent the last 6 months of her life in a hospital 70 miles away, I worked nights while my wife stayed with her nights and I stayed with her thru the days while my wife taught 1st Graders and we both commuted back and forth to work . Life can get upside down when you do this but you will never forget the care and comfort you gave her.
I am a new subscriber, I sent in my subscription last month for a first class mail subscription, can I view the online issues as well as get the hard copy? Do I need a password to get to the online issue?

Yes, access to the online edition is available to all print subscribers on request. PM or email (using the links under my profile to the left of this post) me the password you would like to use to access it (don't post it here). I will set it up and reply to you with instructions on how to access it.
Same goes for any other print subscribers that don't already have access to the online edition.
Thanks,
Mike
Thanks Mike,
Just sent the email with my password.

Excellent decision!

Yes an excellent decision.
The April 2011 edition should be considered " Your tribute to your mom's edition " and she has taken the only copy to heaven with her.
I certainly have no probem with this.
Anyone that does will get a visit from me and my cousin Vito. ;D

Paso One...now that was just plain downright classy!

Thanks!!! I really like that thought. :) :'( :)
Mike, I don't think anyone would have an issue with this approach.
The only problem I see is that a lot of folks collect the magazine and file them in order. I suspect that some will get confused about not having an April issue. Is it too late to label the magazine April/May?
I have said this a couple of times, it does not help when certain ::) authors miss the deadline.

I totally agree! Good reply!
Mike, don't sweat it! You do what you have to do and everything will be just fine.

Really, Jim? A Pun? Well done..RRR.
Good call Mike. I will look forward to the May issue. Thanks...Cable
fe2_o3, even after you made your observation, I still did not catch my unique use of words. Pretty thick at times >:(

Mike,
Thank you for your service and the superb example you set. Glad to have you back safe and sound.
I took care of my Dad full time for 6 years. It was my privilege. Be well and know that you did the right thing and that it pays dividends.

Nope, I say leave April 2011 invisible.
Just imagine the wild made up explanations by the drooling classes for the missing archive in the many years ahead.
The famous missing BCM volume...
Leave them something to chew on?
happy coaching!

I also do not have a problem with this. You had much more important things to take care of than a magazine, I love the magazine.
As was said above let me know and I will bring GORDO, you don't want to know, with me and let him have a talk with who ever.
Thanks for all you do for us Bus NUTS

The passing of a loved one or the missed magazine for one month... no comparison. While I look forward to it every month, it is still just a magazine. I am sure we all will be fine without April.

Mike,
No problem wth misisng the April issue. Knowing you and having met and visited with your mother, I fully understand the bond between the 2 of you.
I am curious how many of the subscribers are online. What about notifying the subscribers who do not come to the BB. This migh prevent some negative feelings towards the magazine. Jack

What I have found is that the substantial majority of our readers are not active readers of any of the online forums/groups. And most (nearly all) of those who aren't also haven't given us an email address. (or as I found out when I tried emailing renewal notices, their email addresses have changed and the one we have for them bounces back or is never checked anymore) So that rules out email and calling that many is just not possible.
There is an explanation of the change in the May issue. But they won't see that until they receive it.
So everyone, please, if you know a subscriber who does not actively read the forum, it will be much appreciated by us (and probably them) if you can let them know what is going on.
