I was wondering what people are budgeting for bus maintenance-related expenses per month? (Not count fuel since that is a whole other subject and greatly varies per trip and usage.)
I have never really budgeted a set amount. other than insurance (about $80/month), i have always just purchased tires, oil, etc. as needed. Last year 2 unexpected tire purchased while on the road, but no tires purchased for a couple years prior to that. I purchased 15 gallon of oil (2 oil changes) last month ($200). We keep our coach at our place when home, so not much else in fixed expenses. I should probably budget arouns 150-175 per month. Jack

I wish I could get 2 oil changes out of 15 gallons of oil..

I dont budget enough.... for anything! I just find myself whipping out my card when I have to and sucking it up :'(
I try to budget 500 a month 250 actual spending for the month and 250 into bus fund for major repairs.
Cory, the way you burn up the road, I don't doubt you need a pretty sizable budget. I'm just trying to figure out what to average. Obviously stuff like tires will increase the average if you figure them in on a monthly average.
If I added it up I couldn't afford it!!! :D
I REFUSE TO ANSWER THAT QUESTION ON THE GROUNDS IT MAY INCRIMINATE ME! >:(

That does not count the occasional gallon I have to add between oil changes. Jack
Wow talk about a mood killer never thought about it just fix or service as needed. the major things are tough. If you can't do it your self a new engine would be scarry a used one also [forgot you should be good there for several miles] hope hundred thousand's. mileage is big factor. tires oil repair trans house systems 35 cents a mile. Bk or other operators where are you? lots of variables
I did mine by the mile .50 cents a driven mile worked for me most of the time lol so now that would be a 1.50 with fuel prices and no factory air
good luck
It seems we budget whatever is necessary to budge it.
It is impossible to budget for such old vehicles.
I'm having too much fun, I don't want to spoil it by finding out what it is costing me!!
