Title: I found your bolt
Post by: JohnVickrey on April 11, 2011, 07:19:28 AM
If you recently spent several days in a open air garage, repairing an oil leak.  I have found your bolt!!  I don't know what maybe about to fall off your motor because this bolt is missing.  You should check very carefully, this may be "The Bolt" that holds it all together.   ;D ;D

John,

That's the bolt that holds all 8 wheels on, the windows, the antifreeze in  and the engine to the bus... :o

You better put it back PRONTO! ;)

Does it have a "Whitworth"  (aka British Standard) thread?  If not, I'm off the hook!

Naah, That bolt looks like it was intended for a 4104 tire tread. Put it back in the Open Air Garage and eventually it'll find its way to the tire.

That looks like a bolt out of a cushman scooter.  It is the main bolt without it nothing works.

Please send it to crown in Costa Rica.

It could be my bolt, unless. ???..........depends what happened to you or your coach with the bolt in question.

If it was serious, it wasn't my bolt; I never have seen it before; must be a case of mistaken identity.

Not mind, Any Flat rate pay auto mechanic will tell you DON'T Unbolt it if you can bend it !!!

Besides left over bolts aid in weight reduction which lead to better fuel mileage.

Reminds me of a certain contractor's operation, where EVERY tool or piece of equipment is marked and labeled or branded and painted... unless, it seems, there's any chance it could fall out on the roadway, such as with a chain or binder. Then it's 100% generic no-name. LOL

that can't be mine?  my engine isn't leaking.  Could that be the bolt that holds 2nd until it reaches the proper rpm to upshift to 3rd?  Maybe it's the fuel adjustment bolt that keeps the mileage regulator above 6mpg or less than $4 per 6 miles?  It could be the bolt that held the extra hose to the ceiling where we took out the A/C fan.  I think i like the last idea best.

Hold that bolt John.  I'll be there probably next Thanksgiving to pick it up, although it may take me 3 weeks or so to find it's proper home.  make sure you take it to St. Cloud if i'm late  :D

btw, your northern parking spot will be ready Monday.  Water, sewer and electric.  The first guest will actually be here on Monday.  Madelyne and Glenn phoned earlier for a reservation, which isn't required.  Room for you and at least 3 friends.

Tell one of your friends from Arcadia, that i found out there is a winery just down the road about 4 miles away.  Good news for all, but especially for some friends whose initials are jack and paula.  ;D ;D

Mystery Solved!!   It is my bolt after all.  I am trying to stop that black stuff from blowing all over the PT Cruiser.  Seems I may have dropped the bolt, when I raised up and bumped my head when the dog hit me as he was chasing the cat.   As you can see the Supervisor chair in the background is empty.  Carl where are you when I need you??

Thanks for all your replies.  :)

After careful examination of the picture of the bolt, i believe it to be an MCI bolt, not an Eagle or GMC bolt.  The bolt appears to be black, not the Eagle orangish color that some mention whenever Eagle is brought up, nor does the bolt have cobwebs that one would expect if it were old enough to come from a GM.

Don't you have a couple foreign MCI's sitting in your lot?  With a couple loose nuts or was that "missing a screw, screw loose" or something similar?
:D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D
