Title: Transport issues
Post by: chuckd on April 06, 2011, 12:48:19 PM
Well I have an interesting problem.  I just bought a 2 door Tracker for my toad from a guy in Douglassville Pa.  I got several quotes for hauling but guess what, there aren't any trucks available!  Everyone is coming home from Florida and shipping their car this year, and no one is going east and west.  I mean for weeks!  I did sign up on "yesterdays tractor" website to see if there is a driver out there needing a load.  So not sure what I am looking for, maybe a shipping company, that does go east and west.  Any ideas?

Thanks

I have in the past used uShip, be careful, if you go this way and check feedback on anyone you hire.... I don't think uShip screens the haulers, and will not be much help if you get a bad one. I just sold a 1953 24' Spartan Trailer to a Movie Production Company in New York, they contacted a hauler thru uShip, the guy was supposed to be here a week ago, very poor communication with the hauler....folks in New York are getting a little restless...

The last time I used them I got lucky and had a guy bring me a Kurbmaster Stepvan  from Arizona to Arkansas for $800.00, he was great. I tried to get a bus hauled out of Florida a year ago and was not comfortable with any of the uShip haulers who bid on the haul.

Just my 2cents worth ;)

Rick:

Thanks, I am using U ship and they have sent me several (6) quotes, but at least in the 3 that I have tried, no one is going east to west.  Will have to try more I guess.
