Thanks Joe,
Is this the antifreeze/coolant tank, domestic hot water, or?
Take all the pictures that you can.

joe thanks for the internal view of a webasto. the first thing that comes to mind is the rust. been using these units for years and was always advised to make sure to use anti freeze in a normal mix to prevent rust. this unit looks like maybe a po used just plain water. best to use distilled with anti freeze.
Ed this is not a unit out of an aqua-hot like you have this is a stand alone webasto. This heat exchanger that is rotted, aqua-hot does not have it only the "burner head" that mounts into a much larger heat exchanger, a boiler tank.
The thing failed due to a manufacturers defect.A little too much heat welding the end of the roundstock thats between the doubled wall that is there to get the antifreeze going in a circular motion instead of migrating directly to the out port. Made it too thin from the getgo.
I completly took apart the burner head into its seporate pieces too.
Ed those bearings someone told you every 2 years. Granger has them for 10 bucks a piece and they have 2 of them.
