Looking for some idea of the costs people have paid to have their stainless steel polished? Particularly interested in MCI 9s. Has anyone traded services for such work? For example, flooring...cabinets....paint...?

Used to hire that out, first time, cut and polish... $1,200. Lots of work, takes the guys 2 to 3 days.
$1200 is a great price compared to what I have seen........Just the materials to "do it yourself" is around $300 - not including the 7-9" side grinders. Vantare charges around $3500 on the new Prevost. The results are astounding........................Makes a standard coach into a show coach.

It takes about 2 hours per panel and is a very dirty job.
If I could find someone to do it for $300.00, I would pay it in a heart beat.
This afternoon I began the final stage of polishing the 9. ::) I predict it will take another 6 hours of work before the bus is finally complete. Down to using the white compound. I can say that three 9 inch Harbor polishers, 20 nine inch bonnets and 10 lbs of compound later that the bus looks great. It really has made a difference. Once complete in the next few days I will post a picture. I have polished the original front turn signal housings, the rear signal housings and the side turn signal units. I removed all the large rub rails and will begin setting those up for paint in the next week or so.
I cannot wait to finish the polishing. I can say that based on 45 hours of work so far, I have mastered the art of using compound to do the work. $3500.00 would be a steal in my book.

You are right. The tip is old on Coach conversion central. I now have to charge $500 to polish your coach. It takes about a week. And at $500 it is still a bargan. Fred Niorth Florida Bus Conversion
If Fred is going to charge $500.00 to polish the entire bus.. I would line up 10 deep to get it done before the price increase! He does nice work and for the money Fred has now apparently decided to open a charity for BusNuts. Fred, the only thing the charity can do is become mobile so those of us in the Right Coast can take advantage of your offers.
No kidding, $500.00 is about the cost of supplies for my job :-[
