bought the power plant out of a 4103 that was getting scrapped. All of the injectors were locked up , so I got the racks freed and put back together. Had the wife shot a short video of it blowing smoke. I think the motor has been sitting idle for at least 10 years, probably more. Blower seems a bit load to me ( whines ) but I've never ran one with the intake tube open. I've gotten cars and motorcycles running but this was a new thrill. Now I have a spare engine for my '04 and new yard art to mow around :)

Hey Bill,
Sounds good, watch that fan :) :)
Did you get my PM about coming and picking up the 4103 parts? I sent a couple of PM"s a few days ago. Could maybe come up the end of this or next week if that will work for you.
I am wanting to get back on my 03 starting problems but have a few days work to get done in the shop first.
I am interested in the rear bumper (if available) , the windshield (if available) and the brake parts, lights and will look at anything else you have for the 4103
Is the bus already scrapped? I would like to add a few windows that were removed from mine....
Rick
Hey
Any of the 4103 parts I have I'll sell including that bumper. Just call me a day or so before ya head to KS. The rest of the bus is gone.

Any of the 2 strokers will make a serious blower whine when there is no air cleaner attached. It still sounds like it is only running on 4 1/2 cylinders. Personally-I would do at least a bearing and ring job before installing in any bus. You might find that all is alright, just needs to be cleaned up to free up the rings. I don't think I'd run it much more with all that smoke coming out of it-you run the risk of it taking off and running on its' own oil. Good Luck, TomC
Tom,
thanks for the advise. ( seriously) I will probably leave it as it sits and keep it avail for a back up if needed. I'm sure it would benefit from an internal cleaning. I ran a heavy amount of fuel treatment in the diesel fuel and used the same fuel treatment to free up the all of the injectors. I really enjoy this board and the tech advice.
thanks
