Paulrobei inspired me to post these pictures. I would not want to be in the demo stage with a June deadline LOL. I have had mine since Dec. of 2007 and not yet done.
I have not done much on the bus since last fall when I started a new job. I found myself in the middle of saw dust on Friday. I was working on my bedroom back wall. I had all the store bought cabinets torn completely apart and back together to fit in the bus. I have taken every cabinet I have bought for the bus apart and rebuilt to fit what a job. Wish I was handy and had the tools like Cody.
Here are the pics.

Slow and steady wins... looking good John! ;)
Looks good! But--doesn't look like you have any insulation on the ceiling over the cabinets. I can't emphasize enough how a good layer of sprayed insulation will keep your bus heated/cooled easily with smaller A/C/heaters. Good Luck, TomC
Thanks Tom
I still can get at it and have a 600 board foot kit of insulation that I will do the whole roof with. Just need to get all the intrusions in the roof area done before I spray.

Looking good John, Christi wants the same set up in our bus. It's almost demo time for me! AGAIN! M&C ;D
While you're building the headboard and bed frame, have you left yourself access to the interior engine cover? Usually it was located under the back seat. We bought our coach already converted and had to spend a week carefully dismantling our headboard and side cabinets to get at the cover to change out the starter. Now I have a removable cover over the hatch so we can get access.

Yep I have access to the engine. I have not built the stand for the bed yet but plan on it lifting up for storage and access to the two access points one on the deck and one in the floor.
Thanks for pointing that out though

Looks good John,
I am a General Contractor and a Cabinet Maker, so I am always impressed with what people can do when they put their mind to it. Unfortunately, the more people like you out there, the less of me that is needed. I'm sure it will be beautiful when you are done.
Good Luck,
Mike

I don't think you have to worry too much. From what I've seen of the young, most are much more adept at twitter, than with tools.

With the original bathroom taken out and switching to belt drive alternator you can cover those holes up. I can crawl all the way back on top of the transmission through the side door. now this is on a MCI 8

I wish I could get back to work on the bus again. It will probably be about four weeks before it is warm enough and dry enough to work on the bus here in Minnesota. I am getting anxious to get back to work on it though. I also have to take my bus over to C&J Bus Repair once road restrictions are off to get a windshield replaced.
John, as others have said, your project and work looks great!!
Brian, I am extremely disappointed. If you keep up at this pace, none of us can look forward to the "panic" threads as you prepare for your big trip. :D :D :o ;)

I don't want to hijack this thread, but I don't plan any really big projects this year unless adding heat is considered a big deal. I plan to get started in late April. I wish the water pump thing hadn't come up.
Four projects:
1. Upgrade headlights to ECE. Already ordered most everything except relays/solenoids. Waiting for spring to start.
2. Replace o-ring on water pump. Will also replace coolant and some hoses.
3. Replace cracked windshield. C&J is ordering windshield. Waiting until roads restrictions lifted.
4. Install Proheat and heat exhangers for interior heat. Probably biggest project.
I built a bar in my basement with generic oak cabinets from Menards. I stained the styles of the doors a walnut color and the rest golden oak. I also added the fancy corner edges to them. They really turned out nice. Use your imagination.
