Title: Wanted! A guide to slides on MCI's
Post by: Singing Land Cruiser on March 17, 2011, 06:45:48 AM
Hello All, Christi & I are about to embark on the task of installing slides on Mrs. Jones (a 102a3ta, 1987). We are looking for a go by or a blog by someone that has completed this task. Thanks, M&C ;D

Your best bet and he is not that far from you is go spend a few hours with Gary Bennett at B & B Coach in Vegas he done MCI before and he will give the correct info and if you decide to proceed he will sell the slide mechanism I think they are in the 3 to 4 thousand range

Possibly Kentucky Steve? His is an Eagle I think, but still an excellent blog to look at:

Also look at the HWH site:

http://www.hwhcorp.com/ (http://www.hwhcorp.com/)

HWH's website is crappy, but has lots of information on different slide mechanisms if you look hard enough. Which is not to say that you have to buy an off-the-shelf system - there's nothing in any of them that a decent fabricator can't make for themselves. And bear in mind that the slide mechanism itself is only one aspect - the structural work and sealing arrangements are a biggest part of the job in my opinion.
