does anyone know what length bolts are needed for plating the air frames on mci 8 ?
Don't know about the length but you can buy the correct bolts from Luke.

Don't know the length, but they need to be flat head countersunk type bolts or they will quickly wear holes in your airbags. As was already mentions give Luke a call 856-794-3104 Jack
I have some extra bolts for the airbags laying around and don't know if they are for the air plates or for the originals. They have the special head on them.
The bolts for plated air bags are noticeably longer. If the ones you have are the same size as on the unplated air bag, they are too small. Luke has both. The larger ones are more expensive, but you can not do without them. Also, it is good to use new bolts when changing the bag.
It depends on the thickness of the plates.
I found that the bag flanges on my '54 4104 are thicker than later models so had to get the longest bolts available and they were just barely long enough where the brake can mount bolted on.
My 4104 also has thicker rear hubs than later models so it uses longer rear hub bolts.
I guess the question would be does anybody know what the standard air bag bolt length is. I had 2 cans of bolts 1 can was standard length and the other was longer for the plates. But I can only find 1 can and don't know which ones they are.
Any of the bus parts suppliers can answer your question.
1 & 5/16 inch. New bolt for standard mci air bag for an mc7. That is total overall length. Got them from Luke. j
Thanks so the ones I found are the long ones for the plates.
Your welcome. Looks like your could make your own if you were in a bind. Grind the head to fit. j
