I have good credit and I would have a hard time getting a loan to build a bus conversion.  Most banks only want to loan money on factory built RVs.

It looks like the bank lost out on this one since from the auction description it appears that the bank took it back.

That could explain why the brakes are "weak" ;)

LOL!
Clifford if you redid it right you could replace the helicopter it has and make it so that yours can be fitted to it and make it so that it's removable then you could drive it from your helicopter and when you parked it you could jut unhook the "toad" and fly away! LOL!
Hmmm, would we have to rename the "toad" to Hummingbird? ;D

Nothing like driving a truck from a converted helicopter fuselage.  A typical movie prop.  Would take BIG bucks to get road worthy.  Good Luck, TomC

late 80's half the large yachts in Newport RI had a chopper on top. we used to laugh and wonder if any of them flew. Then of course it had to happen, saw one that had TWO helo's on top lol.

Nothing wrong with caging the parking brakes on a stored vehicle.

In fact, more busnuts should adopt the practice to keep the linings from bonding to the drums and making trouble for the Spring.

I see a Detroit and a shifter for an automatic.

Some interesting aerodynamic touches...

This thing would be neat to take for a spin, but wow, lots of work ahead for someone!

happy coaching!

I agree, totally ugly and no place for it as an RV conversion.  There may be some commercial marketing type use for it, though I can't imagine what it might be.

It has a fifth wheel you guys are out of touch here lol the trend now is have a 53 ft trailer converted to a RV with the roof slides to make a 2 story and the side slides to double the width and that is a unique tractor and I have saw a lot worse looking buses.
If only I were a little younger but the plate is full now and time is running

Hey Clifford I just had another brainstorm! ...................
Yeah look out...........but seriously this is a GREAT one! (but then again ain't all of mine?)

You could build a platform in the rear of the trailer that the "fuselage" of you new project would fit on and leave the tail & rear rotor sticking out the back!

Now I garun-damn-tee ya it would definitely get alot of attention! I can hear people saying "Wow I've heard of and seen stretched "limo's & other vehicles before, BUT.............THIS IS THE FIRST TIME I EVER SAW A STRETCHED HELICOPTER!  ;)

It needs a rocket pod and a couple of missiles mounted under the wings to clear out the slow moving traffic... Probably wouldn't have to use them, a glance in the rear view and the intimidation factor would probably convince them to let you around...

If you watch this you'll see some extra features on the truck which aren't mentioned in the advert:

Highwayman Intro & Transformation Scene - DVD Release Action (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=asYhAU_mzxw&feature=related#)

(Oh, and I hope Jimmy Smits fired his agent soon after this series came out. Mad Max it's not).

BTW, there are other 'Highwayman' videos on Youtube which feature another, far more interesting truck:

(https://busconversionmagazine.com/forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fi477.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Frr133%2FARKIII____________%2FHighWay%2520MAN%2520Truck%25202%2Fvlcsnap178620kt7.jpg&hash=a01bd31ef580dee3dd36404834f24532eac28b66)

This vehicle is clearly way in advance of what a low-budget TV series prop department could produce, so I did some Googling and find that it is based on a real vehicle called the 'Steinwinter', produced in Germany:

(https://busconversionmagazine.com/forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fimages.hemmings.com%2Fwp-content%2Fuploads%2F%2F2009%2F09%2Fsteinwinter_03_resized.jpg&hash=81a0118e4aaec76c78eb2bf18e90217b49b3ff2e)

For some reason Google also threw-up this picture, which brings us back to the subject of buses (slightly):

Now see that was exzactly what I was saying Clifford could do with his helicopter! Adapt it onto the chassis and then once parked he could "fly away"!
;D  BK  ;D

I still like the idea of his toy sicking out the back too! ;D

I very seriously looked into buying a 53 foot trailer and semi tractor for conversion into an RV.  The unit I was looking at had already been retitled as a motorhome.  I traveled all the way from Minneapolis to Indiana to look at it.  The biggest reason I didn't do it was I couldn't get insurance.  There is no way I could ever get into an RV park, but I had no intention of ever going to an RV park anyhow.

The other issue was lack of space for travelers.  I have had up to 9 people in my bus.  A semi tractor would be lucky to seat more than 4 or 5 people if the bunk was removed.

I think the bus is a better option for me with the way I travel.
