It's an ad I just found on eBay for what sounds like a roof top A/C unit but it is listed specifically for buses and is $5k!

This is the type of A/C unit used on Van Hool, some transit buses, and a few other brands. This still requires an engine driven compressor. The main components of the A/C system are moved to the roof instead of underneath like most coaches.

Sweet, any use for a bus nut in need of cold air or are 3 rooftop low profile heat pumps cheaper and better?

3 roof tops low pros will be cheaper and work fine, but will not have the cooling capacity of this commercial unit. This is an over the road unit only, and as said requires a large engine driven compressor, freon lines to and from the compressor and related control panels, 24 volt power etc.

And if one of the 3 roof airs breaks down you still have 2 that you can use.

$5500 - if he's waitin for a "recreational" bus user, I'm gonna guess that that unit will stay in Santa Fe Springs for a while. (Got no idea if that's a good price for someone who needs to repair a revenue-service bus ...)
