The time has finally arrived and i'm loading the bus for our next outing which will be with the South East Bus Nuts at The Great Outdoors resort in Titusville Fl for the anuall St. Valentines Day rally. Plenty to do, plenty to eat, and plenty to discuss. Can't wait! Meeting up with about 4 other coaches to caravan on over to the east coast tomorrow so with the weather in the upper 70's during the day and 50's at night, it should make for a perfect rally!
Sounds fun.
We're kicking around the idea of coming down to see the final shuttle launch in April.
Will have to see what happens with the job. Currently it's scheduled to end in mid-March, but they're talking about extending me from 1 to 6 months more.

Nick, been doing a lot of research and got my eye on two. One is a CGR Chassis with amodified cr125 by swedetech and the other is a birel with a 125 stock (blueprinted) moto. Both are leaders and I'm leaning towards the birel since its 1500.00 cheaper! Both have 6 speeds en's the birel has a paddle shifter where the crg has just a regular shifter. The paddle means no hands off the wheel to shift. Just thumb action! Oh yea!
we'd like to be there Ace, but with the oil leak, i can't afford to coat florida's highways. We're gonna settle for going to flywheelers, then on up to bushnell, then to the bluegrass party, then up to vickrey's to fix the leak. We sent friends to enjoy the rally. Have fun for us!
Can't aford to go up, then down, then around, etc. :-(
Tom if you own a house and the roof leaks, you don't, or shouldn't, go off on a month long trip. You get the roof fixed first. The point is, since you live in your bus, I'd get the leak fixed first before any major travels. It could cost more in the long run. Now, not to bash a business but I heard from a reliable source that our mutual friend with the Eagle that had work done in Bushnell was really not that happy after our was all said and done. Dont know the particulars, but I tried to warn you about having mechanical work done there other than welding before. If he wasn't happy, do you think you will be? Just be cautious!

Ace,
I think the oil leak repair will be done at Vickery Repair, LTD. near Augusta and visiting family in Bushnell. Jack

Ace, i thought you were one! Friend, not family. Jack is certainly one (and he sort of qualifies as both as Fran and Paula are sort of related sisters.) , and so is Susan, afaik. Beyond that, Fran has friends and i just tag along and drive her bus to her friends.
as far as Bushnell goes, he finally fixed my bogies correctly so that they now have the proper weight on them. this time i watched and i helped, so i know this time what actually got done, with scales, and it leveled right out along both sides, front to back, within 1/2 inch.
Last time, at another garage near you that used to have Eagles, i watched a little and trusted a lot. they had no scales, i had to take their word for enough adjustment, even tho i told them it was not enough. when i weighed it, it was way lite, still, on the bogies. i was right, they were wrong. i would still use them, but watch a little more carefully next time, and push it when i knew they were wrong. i had 2.5 good out of 4 visits, so it wasn't all bad by any means.
So far, any time i haven't watched a garage do the work and check them, it's been marginal, even DD dealers. it's like take out, you got to check the bag before you pull away from the window to see if you really got what you ordered.
JB was also within budgeted time and dollars. This makes at least 4 good visits to his place just above Bevels Corners near Bushnell, with good service at very reasonable prices. And he has Eagles, Prevosts, and MCI's that he's working on. i would have had him fix the oil leak with me, but i got a better offer and an equal offer further north.
Maybe you just dealt with the wrong guy. i dealt directly with JB.
i feel much better about loading the bus for trips now.
and as far as getting it fixed first, i'd have loved to. but the better offer is to teach me how to pull the engine, drop the trannie and gears, fix the leak, and any other problems we find, and make it look like new before we put it back in. i just pay for parts, no charge for the help and the training from a qualified mechanic, with references.
i like the training part, and the costs. i want to be a little more self sufficient. and i know that someone has my back if i get hung up.
Boy, did i get off topic with that one. Sorry.
