Title: GM 8v71 Service Manual
Post by: travlinman on February 01, 2011, 04:49:19 PM
OK Guys, just want to make sure I buy the correct manual. I've got a 4106 with an 8v71. There are a bunch on e-bay, can I use the regular v71 service manual or do I need a GM specific one?

Thanks as always,

TM

Get the one that is listed for Highway Vehicles.

Many, if not most,  DD manuals are for stationary and marine use.

My 1982 version is for Highway Vehicles and covers the reverse rotation engines.  it is not very bus=specific at all, so not aimed at any type of particular vehicle.

TM, pay Joe the 25 bucks for his it will cover what you need, the full blown manuals are 4 volumes you don't need that

good luck

What's in the full blown manual that isn't in the condensed 1 inch thick Highway Vehicles version?

4 times as much lol just to list a few shows you different blowers, liners I think the regular just shows 2, injectors, tips, setting for less or more hp plus it has every service bulletin ever put out by DD since 1939 very hard item to find the last one was published in 1990

good luck
