Title: 8V71T oil feed lines to accessories
Post by: bevans6 on January 15, 2011, 01:06:14 PM
As far as I can see the 8V71 has three places to get pressurized oil for accessories.  There is one on the rear (flywheel end of the block) left hand side that feeds the oil pressure sensor manifold and on my engine fed the alternator (I don't think that was stock), there are two on the right hand side of the block at front and rear, above the starter motor and behind the fuel filters.  On my engine the front one feeds the air compressor and the rear one feeds the power steering pump drive.

On the industrial engine, the only oil-fed accessory was the turbo, it was fed from the rear right hand side.

What is the recommendation on what to feed from where?  My concern is that I have to double up something, I have four things to feed and only three ports to feed them from, and I am concerned about oil flow levels being sufficient to feed everything.

Thanks, Brian
