I believe that was from the reunion they had last summer:

Very cool video and a very brave videographer standing in the gore to film it.

This was during our "Scenicruise 2010" in Adrian/Amarillo, Texas last April. This video was shot by Ted Hotvet. His Dad (John Hotvet) has the red stripe Greyhound paint scheme 4501. One of many videos done that weekend. Just search Youtube. Enjoy.

Eric -

Better watch the video again - I counted three Scenics before the Eagle flew by.

Thought the GMC Motorhome looked kinda cute sandwiched between it's big brothers!

FWIW & HTH. . .

I think that makes sense. Only Eagles drive in the right lane. Does that mean the rest are in the wrong lane!!!LOL COULDN'T RESIST!!

It figures Eric wouldn't start paying attention until after he saw an Eagle.  ::)  ;D  ;D  ;D

That Eagle belongs to Larry Yohe of Colorado. It is one dang nice Eagle too. A couple of months ago, National bus trader mag. had an article Larry wrote about his bus.

It was most likely a big block V892T trolling Paul.  I thought the sound part was great, how many times you roll down the road, wondering what it sounds like on the outside, few of us (drivers) really get to hear (or experience) that part of bus ownership.

I just turn up the sound on my rear camera! Not the same, but I can still hear it!  ;)

Interesting thanks.  I have a few shots of my 10-S at the old bus station in Shamrock also.  Neat architecture, fifties deco.  Is the Grand Canyon meet going to be an open meet or just Scenic Cruisers?

I am not organizing that one in AZ. My friend Chad Goertz from CA. is heading that one. I believe this one is 4501 only. I may fly to that one. Way too far and $$ expensive to take the old bus.

It is a shame really, bus meets should be open to all and not exclusive, but that is my take on it.  You are also right about fuel being an issue, but I don't want anyone taking pictures of my junk at the local airport, and I don't need the hassle.  I am not going as much, but I am enjoying it more, when I do.

It all depends on the purpose of the event. If it is a bus meet, then you're right, all should be invited.

However, this is a Scenicruiser (PD5401) reunion whose purpose is to emphasize & celebrate that singular model & allow owners to share information about this unique coach. Hopefully awareness & intrest will be also raised so that a few more might be saved from the crusher. When other makes show up, it dilutes the impact. You gotta admit that a photo of 10 surviving Scenicruisers has a bigger impact than the same photo with a few other buses included.

I mean, really, who goes to Hooters to look at the cooks.  ::)

If you want to attend a Scenicruiser reunion, GREAT! But, if you don't bring a Scenicruiser, don't park with them. Please allow the object of the reunion to be the focal point.
Does the Louvre display its art in a randon, all inclusive fashion?

If you want an all invited bus meet, host it yourself, don't crash someone else's & turn it into something other than the organizer intended.

There are plenty of generic bus meets & rallies. How many Scenicruiser reunions are there?
I wanted a bus rally closer to my home, so I found a good spot & now host a "non-rally" the second weekend of October each year.  8)  ;D

Gotta say the Eagles have better looking hooters lol,Don I saw those bus a few years back when they did that tour they came through Needles and on to Laughlin, most were nice guys 1 was kinda of jerk thinking the SC was the only bus that ever ran on the highway he took a few shots at me about my Eagle but that was OK.
We have a guy in the Eagles that has one 1954 model he has been rebuilding for years trying to make it a original seated coach he has spent a bundle doing that, it is a classic but one bus that never appealed to me for some reason and I am sure to those owners the Eagle doesn't appeal to them btw The Flx people are in Wickenburg Az those are some nice looking bus that have been restored if you are headed that way

good luck

The last one I rode was from Oakland California to Okie City Oklahoma, #5548 was the number of the coach.  I can still remember it vividly, it was damn 2.5 days on that bus, which is a long time in anybody's book.  You are right about the Fix folks, met some of them at TBR last year and they are good people.

I was just wondering about the Caverns thing, thought it might make a good stop over, and then out to Las Vegas to "visit my money and drink a brew with Billy" didn't know about all the rules.  I can understand brand loyalty and all that, but I mean jeeze.  By the way, I have never been in a Hooters in my life, I just stay home and listen to my Lawrence Welk Remembers Woodstock CD's and try to stay outta trouble.

BK  I like the buffalo shrimp.  They are a lot better a Daytona Beach during bike week.

The "HOOTERS" are nice to.

If you like Scenicruisers, I'd think a good guy like yourself would be welcome at the caverns to share in the socialization & the trip down Scenicruiser memory lane.
How you choose to get there is entirely up to you. Just allow the host his day & don't crowd into the Scenic photo opportunities with some other bus. . . .

BTW, I've been to Hooters a couple of times, you ain't missing nothing. The food wasn't that good & my wife looked better than anyone on staff . . . . .  ;)

Thanks for the invite Kyle, I think I am going to pass.  Seemed like a good idea at first, but kind of changed my mind now.
