Title: MCI Brake Canister seems to be Excess Play in Pushrod.
Post by: Destruktoid on January 01, 2011, 02:07:11 PM
Hi this is my first post and I need some input from more experienced minds. Is this normal pushrod play for an MCI driveaxle brake canister? PICT0025.AVI (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-dF5_Okv7FI.#) The park brake diaphram looks nearly perfect and, If i could get pictures to show up I'd show the larger one to ask if its fine, but theres no holes or cracks through it. When you push the push/pull valve the air dumps out to 50psi instead of releasing the park brake. The owner of the bus watched the driver side parkbrake diaphram get replaced by the previous owner that's why I took this side off but like i said the park brake diaphram is fine. Where to next?  (I'm used to FWD 4cyl cars buses are new to me! Although I have to admit I'm loving the ease of reaching oversized parts compared to a compact car)

DD3 push rods move around.

If you whack it with a rubber hammer on the knuckle it will pop out.

Only held in by a ring around the rod shaft.
