I need to build an interface for my diagnostic software. I'm trying to find a vehicle side harness for a DDEC V ECM. It doesn't have to be from a bus. Any scrap harness with the connector will do. The Detroit dealer here says it's vehicle specific and they don't have a part number for the connector. None of the local salvage yards have one. Post info, PM me or call 615 210 4963.
Moderators, if this is off topic please move.
Thanks,
Ken
Call john silver at central florida bus repair. He won't have one but he might know of a source since he just had a complete harness built for a recent 60 series
upgrade for a customer's bus.
Hi Ken,
if it's the 30 pin connector as in the DDEC4 vehicle interface, I ordered one from Waytek, pins sold separately. most of those connectors are made by delphi

hope that helps

Ken That is a 68 pin Tyco connector. There is a part number in the application manual. That will get you the connector and you will have to build the harness. Detroit will be able to get the connector and pins. I don't have my manual handy, but if you need the number I can get it in a couple of days.

Wayne,
I have the application / install manual and you are correct. The part number for the connector and terminals are listed in it. I thought that I already looked there. I called the Detroit dealer to check the part numbers and they are available. It seems the parts guy had misunderstood my original request for the connector.
Dick,
I called Waytek with the Tyco part number and they don't carry that connector. Thanks for letting me know about the company. I'm sure I'll use them in the future. The DDEC IV and V connectors are very different.
I think now that I have the part numbers I'll order new stuff and forget the scrap harness search.
Thanks to all,
Ken
Ken, You will need two different sizes of pins. If memory serves me all the 12 volt stuff both + and - will need the larger pins.
Good luck Wayne
