well i thought i was doing well by getting the lav and the holding/chemical tank out without using c4 or a plasma cutter. well now i think i may need the c4 to remove that stupid diamond plate from the floor. any advise. it is still an MC7 1972.

I used a BF bar to get mine out. You will find that it comes up hard but will.
John
If I remember correctly, the diamond plate has a lip that extends under the plywood an inch or 2. Jack

That is how I remember it I used the bar and didn't care about plywood as I removed it all anyhow.
John
awsome I will look for a bf bar. sure there is one around here somewhere.
Mark
Mark,
Set you saw for a depth of 5/8" and make a cut about 2" or 3" from the edge of the diamond plate. You have to replace that section of floor anyway. Jack
hope that works, I have bent two bf bars. and that sucker hasn't budged, what the heck did they glue this in with.

Thanks to jack, a busted thumb screwdriver, hammer and a circular saw the diamond plate is now out of the bus. (thumb got whacked with the hammer) cutting 2 inches away from the plate and around it worked like a charm. that exposed 8 screws that i had to pull with the claw of the hammer and up the plate came. something else for the recycle yard i recon. i got .68 cents a pound for the lav stainless steel it totaled 106 lbs. not bad for something i had to remove anyway. so tomorrow i will perhaps start covering some of the holes that allow the cold air to come in. COLD AIR in FLORIDA hummmmm.
thanks

and yes i am still sick over the window.
gerrrrrrrr!!!!!! :-[
Sam Caylor at Caylor Supply in Rantoul, Kansas should have a window set (used). Pull the pins, slap in new window. 10 min. job.
unfortunately it is the drivers rear window. not held with pins. it is that curved corner kind of half round window.
Markmc7, did you happen to take pics. Sooner or later I'll be doing the same project. Thanks. John M.
no i didn't think to. however feel free to ask me or pm me anytime, after doing this you can bet i will remember every screw and rivet and bolt.
Mark
Mark do you have an RV toilet already to replace the bus Lav? just curious as to what you are goin to use. :)
Mark if you dig the grout out around the plate there was two rivets on the side and two screws in the front lip on my MCI 102D3. Then the gorilla glue took two crow bars and 290lbs of weight on them. The screws also went through the plywood but I was taking all the plywood out anyway.
Mine came out quite easy once I got really really angry, lol
