Title: need an engine?
Post by: David Anderson on December 17, 2010, 06:42:22 PM
Anyone know of someone who bought a fire truck to get the engine for his bus?  I see these come up all the time and wonder if that would be a good avenue for an engine.

I believe L Jones bought a fire truck to have a spare engine for his Eagle told me it cheaper than buying a set of injectors for his

Title: Might Be A Super Deal

I'm wondering why this triple is being surplused out before it's time?  It at least should still be in reserve status.  Very young.

Which...may mean there is something radically wrong with it...like a cracked, non repairable frame or a busted fire pump or rust?

But...if all you want are all the parts off of it, it may be a super good deal.  The City of Austin must have..."money to burn"  :) :) :)

They sold for $16.6k and $15k respectively.  That sounds like a good deal for a series 60 engine, transmission and all the cables that go with it.  .
