Ours is getting a shiny new Georgia plate so we can hit the road, lol
A long winter's nap while we move onto the boat for a few months. Yesterday it got a transfusion of pink stuff - haven't had to do that for a long long time. Tomorrow it gets parked, noisy end out with the cutoffs thrown. Most important rule of parking equipment - put the noisy end where you can get at it easily.
Last Xmas I got the bus as a present from my wife..this year the bus has been getting presents all year..!!! my wife is doing upholstery for it so I guess that's it's present from her. I have cabinets in and couch built so I guess my present to it is a break from being drilled ,cut, welded, and worked on almost daily. next year it will be able to make the winter trip to Fla and become #1 bus. The 89 will make the trip this year;.while it stays home for a rest. Merry Xmas to all. Bob
Mine is hibernating in my storage unit surrounded by s&s units that I rented spaces out to. She's getting new start batteries but not until spring...
New kitchen table, granite countertops, Cherry cabinets, window awning, captain chairs, wash and polish!

Heat! The central Illinois winter is so cold I can't work in it. A little heat will extend the working season!
My bus will get approximately 425 gallons of diesel to get to Bussin' 11 and back home.
New pistons, rings, cylinder liners, mains and rod bearings, and freshly rebuilt heads! :(
This got me thinking of how blessed we all are for the opportunity we have to do what we do. It also got me thinking of how far our camper has come this year. Ours has had repairs updates and improvements inside out front to back.
Owning these buses gives us all a better opportunity to see and enjoy the holiday for its real value, family and faith. With the bus IMO every day I go out to it is Christmas all the rest of the year :D.
Most recent project an American Walnut floor laid on a...... ? degree angle LOL. Just got it in yesterday. It is absolutely stunning. The variance in grain and color is so dramatic it took me 2 hrs after I finished before I could drag myself away from looking at it.
The christmas tree is going to look great in there this year.
A trip to Vegas on the the 23rd and visit it's other Bus Buddies
Hopefully some work for ALL of them! ;)
;D BK ;D

Sounds like the 12 days of Christmas, lol.
On the 12th day of Chrsitmas, my bus owner gave to me, 12 new bearings.
11 rubber gaskets, 10 brand new seals, 9 little washers, 8 shiney pistons, 7 wrist pins, 6 slobber tubes, and 5 golden anodised bolts!
4 new injectors, 3 clevis pins, 2 rebuilt heads, and a nicely polished crankshaft just for me
Art,
That was awesome!! ;D
Brando, where are you getting your parts from.
Don
I am impressed Art, ;D
Don,
Sent you a PM.
Brandon
A Rest. After spending 8 months on the road, a 6 week rest before Bussin' 11. And a wash job. Jack
Like most of you, I have come to believe it is Xmas for the bus year round LOL. But just so it doesn't feel left out on the big day, we stumbled across a couple of polished aluminum billit lights while carousing the Xmas bizarr's today. They're for customizing a motorcycle. I'm going to get rid of the cheapo Walmart backup lights and install these. The neatest thing is that they match the polished aluminum mirrors upfront. I have a feeling once I get them on they'll look like they were made for the bus ;D Dang, this is exciting!!! ;D ;D
Can't help it, I'm addicted to 'bus' :o :o
We have found we find the best things for the bus, when we are just out and about, and come across it by accident. It is true that a bus is never completely finished. We have already found things that we want to change when we finish the first round, lol.
Tolerance from my wife and hopefully a thorough gutting. Plus investigation of all sub systems for evaluation and design for the new life in front of it.

A guy was walking down a beach and found a bottle, he opened the bottle and a genie appeared. The genie being most gracious grants him one wish. The guy thinks for a little bit and says, "build me a bridge to Hawaii." The genie replies, "all things are possible, but even this, is too much for me. Why a bridge?" and the guy says, "my wife wants to go there, I don't like boats, I cannot swim, I need a bridge."
The genie sighs and says, "I am afraid this is impossible." But I will still grant you the one wish, if you can think of something, anything. So the guy thinks a little and then says, "Can you make my wife more understanding."
The genie looks at him and replies .... "You want one-lane or two-lanes on that bridge?"

Mine is getting a new storage bay entertainment center, A Master bedroom adjustment and a coat of wax, if i don't become suddenly lazy in the middle..I wonder what our bus is going to get us? A trip to Arcadia..lol...
A freshly rebuilt engine by yours truly!

DRT,
I'm jealous, wish you would come teach me how to rebuild mine!
Just picked up my reworked heads and dropped them off with my mechanic.
Brandon
Well, you see, I work at a machine shop!
Comes in handy when the little brother blows up the motor in his subie!! Guess what he's getting for xmas...
Driven...to Arcadia!
Well, mine received 3 brand spanking new Halogen headlights tonight!
And I learned something... headlights burn out at the speed of light! :D
One was already blown on the high beam, and I had forgotten I needed to replace it.
The other two were mechanical error... or rather operator stupidity...
I don't fully understand it, and will be studying the schematics to see why it happened.
I forgot to hook up the 12v tap on the batteries when I was working on them this fall. I had left the headlight switch on the last time
I shut off the bus, and when I flipped the master switch on tonight, I saw one go. Bright 24v flash!
That wasn't good enough. Stupid me had to hit the dimmer switch and take out one of the high beams, too!
Again, I don't understand why not having the 12v tap would cause this. Somehow it must be providing a ground for the 24v side of the
series connected bulbs. Will have to see if I can figure this one out so I can figure out a way to prevent it from happening again.

We are remodeling our remodel! New cabinets in the bedroom for TV, electronics and clothes!
It never ends does it! ;)
421 stainless steel screws, and maybe an 8V92... well it is still early yet, isn't it? ;D
Bus couldn't wait till Xmas, so I put them on early hehe
Well,
Driven to Arcadia..
But before that I am going to remove the toilet and vanity and get the wall paneling cut and installed.
I get more done with a dead line.. ;D
