Title: Cruise King Cruise Control
Post by: gus on December 03, 2010, 11:23:50 AM
Is it necessary to have an air throttle to use one of these or will it work with a manual throttle setup?

Thanks

Gus, they work on a manual throttle also, best to install it on the throttle shaft at the governor you lose some of the benefits of the King installing it on the pedal.

good luck

If you have a manual transmission or mechanical linkage for the automatic where the throttle modulator for the automatic is connected to the governor, you can mount the actuator at the engine.  On the other hand, like my bus, if you have an automatic with air operated throttle (because the transmission modulator works off air pressure), you can install it to actuate directly on the gas pedal.  I made a small extension that I bolted to the gas pedal to get the correct amount of pedal travel.  It has been working very well.Good Luck, TomC
