I can tell you for free that trying to work on the back end of a bus getting the engine prepped to pull, in below freezing temps with gale force (35 mph gusting to 50 mph) winds and snow flurries sucks in a major way. I think I will do it later... but "later" is a fast vanishing commodity up here...
Brian
Brian, it is getting winter here in AZ also low of 34 today with a high of 66 winds from the north at 1 mph 38% humidity warming trend sets in Sun with upper 70 next week Dec is always our coldest month lol
It has been windy and chilly here in Yuma too. 40 degrees the other day with probably 20 mph winds. I don't even go outside until about 10 am. With the wind even 60 degrees is a little cool. ;D
5" of snow on the ground here. I've just been doing some painting and had to put the paint can in a bowl of hot water before I could use it
Jeremy
We had Zero degrees last night. Does that mean we didn't have any weather?
I am in Quartzsite right now, and the last 2 nights have dipped to a rather chilly 30 deg. I am glad it is supposed to start warming up again. I don't miss the northern nevada winters where i used to live in the sticks and bricks.
Derrick where are you at in Q side we will be coming through on Mon of all the dentist in the world my wife has me going to Scottsdale ? what a guy does to keep peace in the family lol
good luck
oops wrong place
good luck
I really feel for you guys. Thanksgiving day we had to turn the air on, just got too warm with all the cooking and a houseful of people.
We are in High Jolly on the north end of town. We are leaving this morning and going over to Bouse to park at the in-laws' for a few days so i have a place to work on the bus. They are in south america for 3 weeks so i might actually get something done lol. I am going to give the death sentance to a few air leaks and a few oil leaks.
Len, up until a couple of days ago we were sleeping with the bus windows open. :) Now we have the heaters on. :(
We may come through Bouse to see if our friends Dick and Di are at their place we were coming through last week but the signs telling you that hiway 60 was closed at Vicksburg confused me I didn't know if you could get to I 10 or not do you know ?
good luck
highway 60 is open, but vicksburg road is closed north and south of hwy 60. you could go down 72 from bouse to 60 and then east to salome or wickenburg where you could get to I-10 from there.
well I don't know about Nevada, but the wind here died down a tad to maybe 15 or 20 mph so I took another run at it. I looked inside the floor hatch inside the bus, saw that there was a water pipe junction in the way of the shift linkage so I drained the coolant, got the hose out of the way and now I have the upper coolant pipes, the air lines to the governor, the clutch linkage and the shift linkage disconnected. Since the wind and snow was coming from directly behind the bus, I was literally inside the bus, lying down on the floor to work through the hatch, and getting snow in my face...
Winter sucks. Maybe it will be better tomorrow. I think I will play a little blues on my guitar for a while, that seems an appropriate thing to do somehow...
Brian
I thought that you had a shop or a shed to put that in?
That's the Tatamagouche house, in Nova Scotia. We haven't moved there yet, it's for when I retire in a couple of years. Now I'm in Dundas, just outside of Hamilton Ontario.
Brian
Well then that won't work. :)
How about a wood, metal, or pvc framework and a tarp over the back part of the bus? Throw a little heater, a lawn chair, and a fake palm tree in there and you can pretend you are down south while you work on it. :) Oh, and don't forget the plastic pink flamingo! ;D
Although it has snowed twice here now before Thanksgiving, which is a little bit unusual, at least it hasn't gotten cold yet. HB of CJ (old coot)

Cliff we were in Ruidoso and the water pipes froze, used the block heater there and Albq NM, was going to stop and see you, but Flag got snowed in, so we headed down south for a week or two.

Sorry to here that Don would have been good to see you but we are heading to Texas and New Orleans before long and may stop and see you depending on the weather and which way we go.
good luck and drive safe
