Title: 671 Rocker arm / Clevis Pin Clearance question
Post by: Bill in KS on November 10, 2010, 02:05:16 PM
While at the Detroit Dealer having the rack ran the tech grabbed a screw driver and moved a handful of my rocker arms on the clevis end and stated they need to be replaced.  I was 900 miles from home and tired of hang'n out at their shop @ 75.00 an hour and just thanked him for the heads up.

I pulled the V-cover and put my mag base dial indicator on the push rod end of the rocker arms ( while unloaded) and pry'd up and down.  I have anywhere from no measureable movement to .0025".  My manual shows and range of .001-.003 is within service wear limits.

Should I be a "nervous ned" or just run like it is and continue down my to do list.
