Our coach has been sitting for quite a while lately while I continue working on it. With the winter season coming it won't likely
get used until next year. I sort of forgot about the fridge. It is a elec/propane model and I guess I haven't turned it on for a year.
Should these fridges be run occasionally? How often? Or are they okay to just sit indefinitely? I usually keep the doors open a little so it doesn't
get stale inside.
Thanks, Iver.
I don't do any particular maintenance, but the propane chimney seems to rust, so it's good to inspect/rectify that area before starting up again if it's really been a while. Keep the doors cracked open to reduce mold growth.

It won't hurt to stuff them full of crumpled up newspaper. Keeps them from getting smelly over the winter.
Hello: Read the manual . You should clean and inspect the burner assembly 1 time per year to keep the rust particles from clogging the burner tube..
Search the archives we had a post on that a while back.
FWIW regards mike
When you get tired of trying to make the absorption refrigerator work, check out the NovaKool 9cu/ft refrigerator. It runs with a Danfoss 12v compressor (like your house refrigerator). It pulls 5 amps when running, so with 50% running time, a total of 2.5 amp/hours. The 9cu/ft is a bottom freezer, and has the compressor in front so that venting is not an issue. Costs about $1,800.00. Runs on either 12vdc, 24vdc, or with an optional built in inverter 120vac. It is the refer I'm using in my truck. Good Luck, TomC
