Title: City of Tulsa Auction sells off Gillig Buses
Post by: scenicruiser997 on November 05, 2010, 07:38:30 AM
Well, it looks like the city of Tulsa, OK. is getting rid of 9 more of their old transportation buses.  Last Auction I went to they sold for about $1500-$2000 each.

The great part of these Gillig transits is that they have straight walls-as compared to my walls that have three different angles before the curve of the ceiling.  Then they have Series 50's with 6spd World transmissions, big windows, and the aluminum wheels are practically worth the $15-2,000.  These would make an excellent low cost conversion.  Since they are high floors, there is about 22" of under floor space for tanks, batteries, etc.  The only negative, since they are only 35ft, you loose the extra under floor space the 40ft'r has for storage (on my 40ft'r I have a 66"long X 99" wide X 22" high storage compartment-holds a lot!).  I'm not sure, but I think these are also 102" wide-of which finding a 35ft'r that is 102" wide is rare.  Good Luck, TomC
