Hello bus people!! I have a question about an oil filter. I went to the O'riley auto parts to get Delo 100 59 wt oil. They had 15 gallons at $12 a gallon. Anyhow I asked for a filter for 6v92. She gave me a wix filter. I have never looked at the filter before so I did not know if it was correct. I got home to find the filter in the bus is metal with two bolts in it. One on the bottom and one slightly to the side of can. I am assuming it is a cartridge filter and the bottom bolt was to hold it in place and the iter bolt was a drain hole.
Any education is appreciated here. I need to know where to get a filter. Maybe what part number to order amd proceedure.
I also notices the part that the oil cannister is attahed too is bolted to the side of the engine block. It is caked with old oil amd dirt with newly leaked oil over that. I have an oil leak in there somewhere. Again any information here would be great.
Hi Wal
I have a 6V92 1984.
My oil filter is a screw on type.
Somebody will soon help you out with that after market filter.
Remember to use straight 40 WT CF2 oil in the engin.
Where in TX are you located ?
I'm west of San Antonio about an hour.

Wayne, you can buy the adapter to convert to spin on for 70 bucks from www.dieselpro.com (http://www.dieselpro.com) or the base but it cost 190 bucks so most go with the adapter kit never knew why lol me I am a remote type guy I don't like crawling under those beast to change the oil filter

Hello FRank I am west of Houston by an hour, Sealy. If your an hour west of San Antonio that puts you right around Kerville, TX I am guessing. Nice country out there. I did a lot of hunting out that way over the years. Almost took the bus to a Robert Earl Keen concert there a month or so ago.
I found 5 cases of Delo 100 today at $12 a gallon. I bought them all. They said they could get more but that will last me a while.
I would expect the cartridge filter would be available at any reputable vendor.
Lots of us with the cartridge filters on our coaches.
Counter staff know which one I need, standard thing, it seems.
Mine are usually Baldwin. Wix are fine too.
happy coaching!
