Title: Terlingua International Chili Cookoff
Post by: bigjohnkub on October 27, 2010, 07:51:49 AM
We will be leaving Tyler TX, Friday evening for Terlingua. Cookoff is Nov.
6th. About 750 miles each way. Good 12 hr trip. Have changed oils and filters, fixed oil cooler and air bag leak. Have done pretrip inspection and have road service car and breakdown cash in bus. Ready for a week in beautiful south Texas desert. If the good Lords willing and the creeks don't rise , we should be there Saturday evening. Paul, I'll call when we drive by.
Load up and come with us. Spring break in the desert for old people.
Big John

I would love to go but for some reason they insisted it be held the same day as deer season opener.  Yall are just going to have to have a good time under the Terlingua sky without me.  Enjoy and have a safe. trip.

That is a neat place to hang out. If memory serves me the judges use tequila (sp) and beer to cleanse their palate between samples. That is why the chili there tends to be on the strong side, Have fun!
