Well, one week before our old bus was to be picked up, the guy that has had us holding it for him since summer, backed out with some lame excuses. It is our own fault that we didnt get a deposit on it. We tend to like to take a man for his word, but it is becomming more and more evident that you just cant do that anymore. It is really a shame that it has come to that. Oh well, live and learn I guess. I guess we will put it on craigslist. Never been on there before, but, guess I will figure it out. We live in a small town, so, not much locally. We are going to ask cash, or possibly just trade it for a good 15kw gen. That is what we really wanted out of it was to have enough to get a gen. We really wanted one of those EPS gens, I think I got the name right. I guess we will see.
Ruthi, I have bought and sold on Craigslist with very good results.
You can usually tell on the phone who is a tire kicker. If it don't feel right on the phone, don't tell them where the bus is.
Jack
Thanks Jack. Need all the info I can get on this. I was hoping to avoid this, and thought we had, but oh well, here we go. Hopefully it will go fast, dont want much for it, just need it to be a done deal. Dont want 2 busses sitting here.
Does this mean the Dina is done? I hope to see you at Arcadia.
Brian, it is 90% done. Still lots to do before then, but, yes, we are planning on making it. We are excited to go to our FIRST, for sure. See ya there. ;D
I use a disposable phone# for anything that has to do with the net.
For $12/3 month on Skype, you can forward to any # without cost, or none, message recording, you want without the caller knowing where it goes, show or not any ID. can not be trace, eliminate junk phone call & you can change it at will.
wrench
Wrench, I dont know how to do that, but I will ck into it. That is why I hate to put stuff on the net for sale, dont know who might call, or show up, lol.
try google voice it's fffreeee

Anyone have luck on ebay with selling a bus?
I'm sure some do but it seems like most of the buses have a reserve that never gets met. I myself would prefer buying one with a selling price from Craigslist than to waste time on a bus on Ebay not knowing what the reserve is or how high the price will go. I would never buy any bus without first checking it out and driving it. If it is an ebay bus you may spend all the time, money, and effort in travelling to see the bus but still might not win the auction. If it is a craigslist bus, if you like what you see, you can leave a deposit until you can pick it up or buy it on the spot. I'm sure others feel differently but that's my opinion. Good Luck in however you go about selling it.
Many Ebay auctions for vehicles have a clause that says they have the right to sell locally. Nothing says you can't make a deal wth the seller persuant to an inspection and have them pull the auction.
I usually pass by any auction that has a reserve if the seller won't reveal the reserve. First off, I'm not going to buy a vehicle without an inspection. How am I going to know if it is worth my time if I have no idea what the vehicle would cost me? I'm not going to place a bid because how do I know I'm not bidding over the reserve. A secret reserve is a waste of time for the buyer.
Smart sellers will put the reserve right in the auction description so buyers know right away if they are interested based on the price. Some sellers put the reserve sky high and then decide at the end if they want to offer the item to the highest bidder.
Ruthi;
Word to the wise on CList
Make sure you put ,
cash only
No third party sellers( because they will pretend they want it and then try to sell it and try to take 10% or more for doing it). Just a waste of time.
No Money Orders of any kind. ( these can be faked)
Bank cashier checks can be fake also unless they are local and you go to their bank to have them drawn.
If you need the phone info go to,
Skyp.com lots of free downloads and different types of programs that will set it all up for you.
Good luck on your sale will think positive thoughts for you guys.
Dave
Thanks for the information guys. I appreciate it. I think I will go with craiglist. Hope to sell it soon. We are willing to negotiate with it, so, hopefully .....................
Ruthi, You might want to also post it with BCM and any other place you find. CL might work, but you want to get the word out to as many venues as possible for a quick sale. You have lots of competition out there, so price it right to begin with.
Good Luck!
Paul
One thing to remember is that Ebay is a very cheap advertising medium.
Amazing after the auction ends how many deals are made :) :) :)
Well, after a lot of discussion, we have decided on 7k for the bus, for a fast sale. Does that sound about right?
For your GMC that is a steal. If I had the Cash I'd Take it. Sounds low to me.
