Good morning, All.  What is the hubometer generally used for, and is it ever reset?  Kirt

I just use mine to keep track of mileage between fuel stops.  In industry, I believe they are used to schedule maintenance.  Here, for example, a bus in commercial use has to have under chassis maintenance done every so many thousand kilometres.   I have heard that they are often changed or set to zero when an engine is rebuilt, for example.

Thanks, Brian.  I don't know much about performance cars, but I appreciate them.  Your list of cars make my eyes dilate. Have a good one.  Kirt

I thought they were there to perpetuate the charade of how long since the motor was overhauled. Most bus places have a box of them somewhere, just dig through and find one with the appropiate reading, bolt it on and your good.
