I stopped by to get my '83 MB inspected yesterday and they indicated that there is NO inspection of non commercial passenger diesel vehicles 1996 or later. OK, but what about the windshield sticker which will be expired this Friday ? ? Oh, just scrape that off, per DMV worker. ( Hey why did I not think of avoiding an expired sticker by doing this )
OK, OK, I ask about when the nice policeman stops me for no sticker, what up ? No violation etc. I did request and receive a copy of the recent change in reg's. That is stored quietly in the glovebox.
There is NO emmissions inspection, NO insurance & registration inspection, NO vehicle safety inspections. It was novel to drive without an inspection sticker, after 34 years in NJ.
This also applies specifically to motorhomes and buses. WooHoo.
Have a great day.
Gary
Sounds like michigan, run what ya brung lol.
Hi Gary,
I found that out in August when I was told to just drive through the inspection station
with my windows still tinted on my H2.... Nice suprize! I asked about motorhomes and
found the same as you!
About time!
Nick-
PS, I never had a state sticker in the bus anyway..
With the power surge that this encourages, I say we all run up to the bedrooms and rip off the tags from our pillows, you know the tag that says it must not be removed under penalty of law. Come on people, lets get wild, they can't tell us what to do any longer, the tags are ours, we can rip them off if we want too. There, my tag is gone, history, ripped into a zillion pieces, take that Obama, what are you going to do about it, are you sending the pillow tag police to arrest me?
I am now required by my owner and trainer to write a disclaimer, I have pnemonia and a double inner ear infection so I have some of the best meds known to man, I have meds that if memory serves me I paid top dollar for back in the 60's, I get the fun of walking like a drunken sailer or soldier depending on your religion lol, the floor is heeling up to meet me and the baseboards are flowing away off into the sunset and I'm told I'm grounded for the duration. It looks like an excellent day to sit around and watch cartoons or to work on the roof, insert invectives as needed. So there is the disclaimer, I'm legally protected now.
We have no inspections in AZ either our plates here are from 35 to 55 bucks for 2 years for older RV and buses
NC no longer requires the inspection if it is over a certain age, one of you locals please inform us?
Thanks
Jack
