If this doesn't work out try going to Barthmobile.com and see if there are any for sale in the area where you are.  These were very well built, high dollar coaches in their day.

My advice for what it is worth on a S&S Motorhome would be to be careful and not rush into buying anything.

I second the earlier post about the Barth Motor Homes, very well built with aluminum siding that will take a polish.  The mid to late 70's Barths can be found for well under $10,000, usually in the $5000.00 dollar range for a well kept one, there are several on the Barthmobile.com site.
I had a 1973 22' Barth with a 454 cChevy and a turbo 400 and it was a great little coach. Parts are available and about any shop can and will work on them. Just my 2cents worth!!

Awesome. Following your experience was heart breaking, glad you were able to turn it around. Seem to be a lot of good, honest, and decent people here. I have always believed that if things are "meant"to be, they will work out, and vice versa. You were not meant to have that other motorhome. This sounds like a way better deal.

John,
Congratulations!!!  I hope it works out.  If you can make Kyle's rally that would be great. We plan to arrive at the cove on Wednesday, 10/6. Hope to see you and Lidia.  I know a place near Arcadia, FL that has a complete shop you can use for any repairs/modifications you want to do.  Jack

Blue with yeller and red flames eh? Least the cops wont try to argue its a commercial vehicle, lol. Its cooled down a lot, you should be able to survive without air for a while, fix it later. I'll keep an eye out for ya if you pass by, but im thinkling your good to go. Better MH for same price. Should drive over to the other jerks house and show him what ya got, lol... But that wouldnt be very Christian, just let it go. Besides, you got a rally to attend.

I think the prayers paid off on this one.

Crown,

I'm in the area also. Don't know what roof air your rv has, but I have an extra Duotherm Penguin upper unit.

Good luck and have fun at the rally! I'd be at the Cove but have too much to do getting ready for one of our last events of the season.

If you guys need any help, we are in Marion,NC 828-seven three eight-3817

How's the RV buying going?  Hope all is well!  Believe I read that the AC was an issue?   For the forseeable future, you won't need much AC...hope the heat works.   When you get back to Miami, AC might be a bit more of a factor in the creature comfort department.
If you make Palmetto Cove (highly recommended), get ready for mid 40's at night and around 70* during the days.
Ned called and let me know that you were coming into CLT.  I live less than an hour from CLT, but spousal component pretty much pre-planned the afternoon.
BTW, if y'all are not familiar with those slides, get some advice on locking them in place. In fact, on a complicated RV such as the pictures show, get some local info on everything...especially location of LP valves and safety, battery masters, make sure the fridge lights,  cycle the heater, pressurize the water system and watch the floor and outside when you do this if the coach hasn't been used this summer.
Make sure that the tires are inflated to the max load specs, not dryrotted or seriously dated out, and double check the inner duals.  Get a couple of spares and mounts.
Operate everything that you don't want to replace or repair....GENERATOR is a biggie!
Once you verify operation of the water system, drain the freshwater tank and freshen up with RV chems or bleach.
Check the upper interior for water stains.  They are a good indication of a leaking roof.
If the slides are nasty around the seals, that's a good indication of damaged seals.
Pull the awning out and make sure that it works.   Assure that it's properly retracted and locked in travel position.
All of these things can be repaired, if the price is right.   A badly leaking roof probably isn't worth repairing...?  Depending on the construction method of the RV, repairing a leaky roof may well cost more than the coach is worth.
Hope to meet you at Palmetto Cove.

Happy RV'ing!  JR
