Post by: cody on September 26, 2010, 07:11:15 AM
It appears that mike may have crossed the half century mark today, not entirely sure, mike needs our prayer in this time of need cause once that hurdle is broken it seems that time just starts to go screaming by, ask ned, he'll tell you lol

Well, thanks for the thought Cody, but the rumor of my half centry demise appears to be slightly premature.   ;D  That infamous moment is a little over two weeks away. lol

That said, I think time jumped the gun on it and accelerated months ago because the last few months have shot by so fast it seems like something out of a sci fi flick.

mike thats still scary in a way, when you reflect on how fast the first half of your projected life expectancy went by, you can well imagine how the second half will zip by.  The bigger question is what have you done with the first 50 years of your existance to further the evolution of mankind, my greatest achievement on my part is to advance from the 4th position on the left on darwins evolutionary chart to the 3rd position, I'm so proud i could just bust, one more position and I'll be able to take a whack at mastering fire.

;D  Well, it seems like in the first half I spent a lot of time reinventing the wheel.  lol

Mike,

Thought I would share this little tidbit.

I turned 50 two years ago,  and ever since then and with no coaching from others (that I know of)

My 9 year old tells me whenever any conversation turns to age with friends or whatever.

He tells me I have plenty of time to get all my projects done,  that I have 49 years to go, now 48.  Only time will tell.

So, Enjoy the 50 years + two weeks you have left........ ;D

Paul,

I try to convince myself of that too! ;)

But after spending 6 hours on the roof of my barn extension Friday, screwing down metal roofing while balancing on the rafters,

I am walking around like a 90 year old today.

My wife glanced over at me (on the couch) as she left for church and said "You know....Your not 25 anymore..."

(In my head I responded), "I know....I'm 39........ ;D

Life is like a roll of toilet paper.  The closer to the end, the faster it goes.

Theory;

Time seems to go by so much faster as you get older because when you are 10 years old, one year is one tenth of your life. When you are fifty years old then one year is only one fiftieth of your life.

And when you are 80 years old you would swear that there are two (maybe three) Wednesdays in every week because it was just Wednesday two days ago

I always KNEW I was way more mature than you! :D  I turned 50 way, WAY back in March, and then have lived about two years worth of life since then!   ;D  Pre-congrats!  Christy Hicks
