Wow! My wife and I took off last Saturday headed for Florida. Couldn't take the bus as I still hadn't received the the satelite dome that I broke a few weeks ago. Made it to Biloxi, MS in time to have supper with some old friends. Off to the casino and smacked the dealer. Whahoo I love it when we bear on the dealer. Spent the night and drove to Indian Rocks Beach, FL where we rented a house on the beach for 2 nights. I had to go to school at the National Forensics Center On amonday and Tuesday. Finished that and off to Orlando. We hung around Orlando and went to take a tour at the Tracstar company and picked up a new dome. Then it was off to Daytona Beach for an afternoon of fun on the beach. My favorite part is next. We left Daytona and headed for Cypress lake which is the second lake in the Kissemee chain of lakes. I hired an airboat captain to take my wife and I on a 3 hour airboat ride. He was nice and being it was a private charter he brought his personal airboat. All I can say is holy $&@". That thing can go anywhere. We drove it down a gravel road for over 100 yards to get to another part ofthe swamp. We drove it for a half a mile across a cow pasture. It was at night too which made it even better. My wife is telling me we need an airboat!!!! That worked out pretty good, huh! We went back to Biloxi but passed on the casino. Didn't feel the carma and didn't want to give the dealer back any of our money. We just walked in the door abou an hour ago. The grass is a foot deep and chores are piled up. Had fun but it is good to be home. How is everybody?
Here on the forum?
Sound like you folks had a great mini vacation and got some things done too! Have always wanted to go for an airboat ride, great to hear ya smacked the dealer ;)
I have owned every kind of boat at one point or another. That airboat was something else. The swamp this guy took us too was 100,000 acres with islands scattered here and there. The airboat community has built small stop off places where you can ride for awhile then pull up to the camps for a rest and beverage reload! We are going to go back in the spring when the airboat folks are out in force and having a redneck good time at all the camps. Hopefully I will be sporting a new fan boat myself.
I was hooked when the guy pulled a pin on the trailer lowing the boat's back end to sit on the ground. He pulled the truck up out of the way and said get in. It was on the road not even near the water. We just got in and took off. Crazy! It defies all I ever learned about boats.
Oh and yes kicked some dealer arse is always good.
An airboat ride is almost as good as you know what!
It's all that and a ham cheese sandwich too!
